When you’re unsure, confidence level is wavering, or a hint of nervousness creeps in to your normally positive mind it can throw you off and set in motion a series of thoughts that really do nothing to help solve the problem. If you feed into and allow these thoughts to grow, you aren’t helping anyone, especially yourself. Release these thoughts, knowing that within you is the knowledge and ability, you just need to listen, tap in, and allow it to unfold. Be true to yourself, your inner wisdom, and you will be radiant.
“We are not going to change the whole world, but we can change ourselves and feel free as birds. We can be serene even in the midst of calamities and, by our serenity, make others more tranquil. Serenity is contagious. If we smile at someone, he or she will smile back. And a smile costs nothing. We should plague everyone with joy. If we are to die in a minute, why not die happily, laughing? (136-137)”
― Swami Satchidananda, The Yoga Sutras
Smile at someone this weekend, help create a plague of joy in your community and your life, it is available to each and every one of us, free of charge. Now that is a good deal.
You are what your deepest desire is.
As is your desire, so is your intention.
As is your intention so is your will.
As is your will so is your deed.
As is your deed so is your destiny.
This makes a lot of sense. Powerful wisdom that shared in an ancient text (Upanishads) that offers experiences and realizations of sages and gurus. I gravitate to this one because it is a true reflection of our daily thoughts, choices, and what we experience in life. Everything we do starts from a place of intention and desire, the clearer we are on what we want to create in our life the more likely we are to see it happen. What are you thinking about most? What do you spend the most time doing? Our actions are where our destiny lies, our true life goal, not a socially conditioned goal, is where our desires lead us. If you want something to grow stronger in life, give it more attention. If you want something to diminish, withdraw your attention. Such a simple formula, give it a go, what do you have to lose? You might just get rid of something that has overstayed its welcome.
