Ithaca, NY is gorgeous, not only for it’s incredible waterfalls, gorges, and hiking trails but the awareness and importance of supporting local business and the freshest foods, which just happen to be local too. While visiting this weekend I felt connected to the culture and community vibe immediately, people walking or biking everywhere, multiple yoga studios, farm to table food selections, and every restaurant listed all of the local purveyors they sourced their amazing ingredients from. Not to mention they had the best drinking water ever, like there was a spring out back. When you eat well and move your body regularly I think it improves your mood and energy level, this was surely true, because everyone was very friendly. Usually after a busy weekend away your tired, regretting food and drink choices, and ready to be home. Visiting Ithaca has the opposite effect, I was energized from the beautiful cuisine, fresh air and breath taking views, and the knowledge there is a community out there that really gets it. My hat is off to you, looking forward to seeing you again soon.
